Day 4: Tarangire national park –Drive to Serengeti national park

This morning, you will rise early for breakfast, say goodbye to the camp personnel, and then depart to

Towards the most famous safari park in the World, the Serengeti National Park, which is renowned for its predators and being home to the Great Migration and to two million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes, including the abundant impalas and Thomson’s gazelles. As for Big Cats and large predators, it’s the place of choice to see lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Many television films, such as the famous river crossings, have been filmed in this park. Smaller animals like foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax, African hares, and more than 500 species of birds also inhabit this park. The park has 6,900 sq. km (18000 sq. km); for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon, defying your senses and perception of distance. The central part of the park, known as the Seronera Circuit, is very rich in wildlife habitat, with the Seronera River providing water for the animals and birds. You will spot thousands upon thousands of animals in herds: wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the mighty African elephant, and the most respected group of predators. You may have the chance to spot lean cheetahs, shy leopards, foraging hyenas, and last but not least, the king himself and the lion. When you arrive at the park, check-in at your booked lodge to refresh, and then spend the evening at your leisure until it is time to have dinner and overnight.

Day 5 &6: Serengeti national park (Central sector) –to northern sector

On this day, wake up very early in the morning with all your luggage, have a cup of coffee to warm up your body, get a box of your packed full breakfast and picnic lunch, check out of your camp, and then drive to the park for a morning game drive while transferring to the northern sector for the park that is highly known for watching the dramatic River Mara crossing when millions of wildebeest and hundreds of Zebras are crossing from Serengeti national park in Tanzania to Masai Mara national reserve of Kenya. An early morning game drive is a fantastic option for spotting nocturnal and diurnal species as they awaken for the day. Many animals will be easily visible by the trackside in the morning as they escape the morning dew and enjoy the songs of the rising birds. You get lucky enough to watch the Great Wildebeest Migration, and your assigned safari guide will do all he can to see you catch up with the wildebeest and zebras crossing the deadly River Mara on their way to Masai Mara National Reserve. Even without the wildebeest migration herds, the Serengeti is home to thousands of wildlife species, such as buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, lions, elephants, topis, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles, impalas, warthogs, and numerous bird species. The northern sector of Serengeti National Park is a fascinating safari spot with incredible numbers of wildlife for you to spot while on your safari. The region is unspoiled, beautiful, and quiet compared to the southern Serengeti plains. The area stretches from the Lobo Hills southward to Seronera. It is typified by green rolling hills, a pleasant diversion from the much flatter southern plains, and incredible numbers of wildlife. The northern Serengeti is famous for wildebeest calving and migration and perhaps a must-visit for witnessing new birth. On top of the fame, the sheer diversity here is incredible, with a single visit offering many sightseeing experiences. So, while in the northern Serengeti, you will be rewarded with views of gorgeous landscapes of green rolling hills, granite outcrops, and acacia woodlands dotting open savanna, incredible wildlife, and most importantly, massive herds of wildebeest and zebra making dangerous crossings of the croc-infested Mara River during the Great Migration in June and July and again in September, October, and November. This sector of the park is also home to the greatest concentration of elephants in the Serengeti, as well as good numbers of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas, and diverse resident animals such as giraffes, topi, eland, and hippos. Later in the evening, return to your camp to refresh, have dinner, and have an overnight.

At the same time, predators such as leopards and lions hunt for their morning meal. Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife, such as over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and some 500 bird species, inhabiting an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size. So, while on this safari, you will explore the endless Serengeti plains dotted with trees and kopjes, from which majestic lions control their kingdom; gaze upon the Great Migration in awe, or find an elusive leopard in a riverine forest. Or perhaps see everything from a bird’s-eye view and soar over the plains at sunrise. Serengeti National Park is one of the few wildlife-protected areas that have remained unspoiled, providing a lifetime of wildlife experiences that will answer all your questions about African wildlife safari experiences. So, during your game drive safari, expect to encounter an abundance of animals, from the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhino, although these are rarely spotted) to giraffe, Grant’s gazelle, impala, kongoni, topi, and eland, Zebras, cheetahs, and Thomson’s gazelles, among others. Day 8: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Morning breakfast at your Camp, with picnic lunch boxes. Drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and descend to the crater for a crater tour. Crater floor, abundant with wildlife. View black rhinos protected within its rim, giant tusked elephants, big-maned lions stalking the grasslands, and bright pink flamingos crowding the soda lakes. An extraordinary experience awaits you both here. The crater spreads for 102 sq. miles and has 2,000-foot-high walls, making it virtually Noah’s ark and inhabiting almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa. It’s one of the very rare destinations on the continent where you can witness the black Rhino. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a significant concentration of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants, which are the largest in the world and have massive tusks. This is due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. Apart from the elephants and rhinoceros, also in the crater are about 30 thousand animals said to live, such as Lions, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, Gazelles, warthogs, jackals, and bird life. You cannot find a giraffe in the crater, nor Impalas or Kirk’s dik-dik. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World. Later, at 2 p.m., retire from the craters and drive back to Karatu for Dinner and an overnight.
