This 8-day safari takes you on a thrilling adventure through some of Uganda’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Starting in Murchison Falls National Park, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring power of the Nile as it crashes through a narrow gorge and cascades down a series of waterfalls. Moving on to the North and Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, you’ll have the opportunity to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and leopards. The trip also includes visits to the scenic Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo, where you can relax and take in the stunning surroundings or go on a game drive to see zebra, impala, and other African animals. 1
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking and later to Murchison Falls to visit the top of the falls
Your Uganda safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Kampala by your driver/guide who will transfer you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, located in Nakasongola district. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a 70 square kilometer reserve that offers visitors a chance to track wild rhinos on foot.
Upon arrival, you will have a briefing on the dos and don'ts of rhino tracking before setting off into the sanctuary in the company of an armed ranger guide. Tracking the rhinos usually takes 2-3 hours depending on their location. Once you have located the rhinos, you will get to observe them at a safe distance, take photographs, and learn about their behavior and conservation.
After the rhino tracking experience, you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest and oldest national park in Uganda. Upon arrival, you will visit the top of the falls, where the Nile River crashes through a narrow gorge and cascades down a 43-meter drop creating a breathtaking view. You will then check into your lodge at Murchison Falls.

Day 2: Game drive & Boat ride at Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast at your lodge, you will embark on a morning game drive through the northern section of Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to several wildlife species including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hyenas, and several antelope species. You will have an opportunity to spot these animals in their natural habitat and learn about their behavior from your guide. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on an afternoon boat ride on the Nile River. The boat ride offers a chance to view animals such as hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species that inhabit the riverbanks. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer from Murchison Falls to North of Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast, you will depart from Murchison Falls and head south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping for lunch en route. You will be staying in the northern part of the park, which is less crowded and offers a more exclusive game viewing experience. On arrival, you will settle into your accommodation and enjoy dinner.

Day 4: Game drive and Boat Cruise at North of Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast, you will go on a morning game drive, during which you will explore a different part of the park and encounter new wildlife. After the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the cruise, you will see various animals, including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous bird species. The boat cruise will last about 2 hours, after which you will return to your accommodation for dinner and a good night's rest.

Day 5: Morning game drive in North and transfer to Ishasha sector for evening game drive
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the North of Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring different areas of the park to maximize your chances of wildlife sightings. Later, transfer to the Ishasha sector, which is known for its tree-climbing lions. Upon arrival, settle into your accommodation and relax for a while.
In the evening, embark on an exciting game drive in the Ishasha sector, where you may have the unique opportunity to spot tree-climbing lions lounging on the branches of fig trees, and other wildlife species. Keep your cameras ready for some incredible photo opportunities. After the game drive, return to your accommodation in the Ishasha sector for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Game drive at Ishasha sector and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will go for another game drive in Ishasha sector, this time searching for other wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, and various antelopes. After the game drive, you will then continue the drive to Lake Bunyonyi, where you will arrive in the afternoon. Here you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake, known for its 29 islands.
In the evening you can opt to do any of these optional activities - boat/canoe ride around the lake, hike to one of the surrounding islands, visit local communities, or simply unwind on the lakeshore and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Day 7: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo for evening game drive
After breakfast, you will set out for a game drive in the Ishasha sector, where you will have another chance to spot the famous tree-climbing lions, as well as other wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, and different antelope species. After the game drive, you will check out of your lodge and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation and have some time to relax. In the evening, you will embark on a game drive in Lake Mburo, enjoying the unique landscape of the park, which includes rolling hills, savannah plains, and scattered acacia woodlands. You will then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Game drive at Lake Mburo and transfer to Kampala
On the final day of your trip, after breakfast, you'll go for game drive with packed lunch, where you'll have the opportunity to see zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, and many other animals. Post game drive, you'll then depart for Kampala. The drive takes approximately 4-5 hours. You'll be dropped off at your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala or directly to the airport, depending on your travel plans. This marks the end of your trip.
