This 3-day safari package takes you to two of Uganda’s most popular wildlife destinations: Murchison Falls National Park and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You’ll get to explore the vast savannah landscapes of Murchison Falls National Park, home to some of Africa’s iconic animals such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, and giraffes. You’ll also take a boat cruise to the base of the Murchison Falls, where the Nile River explodes through a narrow gorge before plunging down to form a powerful waterfall. Additionally, you’ll visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. This short safari offers an incredible opportunity to experience the beauty and diversity of Uganda’s wildlife and natural scenery.
Short itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park for game drives. Stay at Murchison Falls. (L,D)
Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise at Murchison Falls National Park. Stay at Murchison Falls. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking and later transfer to Kampala.(B,L)

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park for game drive
Your trip will start with a transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park, located in northern Uganda. This scenic journey will take you through local villages, lush countryside and along the shores of Lake Albert.You will arrive at Murchison Falls in the afternoon and check-in at your accommodation where you will be welcomed with refreshing drinks. After settling in, you will have a chance to relax and take in the stunning views of the park.
Later in the afternoon, you will embark on an exciting game drive in the park, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will take you through the savannah grasslands, giving you an opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife species such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, and different types of antelopes. You will return to the lodge in the evening for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise at Murchison Falls National Park
On the second day of your tour, you will wake up early and have breakfast before heading out for a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. The early morning hours are the best time to see predators such as lions and leopards. You will drive through the park, exploring the different ecosystems and habitats within the park.
The drive will be followed by a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile River, where you will have a chance to observe hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, and pelicans. The highlight of the boat ride is the Murchison Falls, a powerful waterfall where the Nile River forces its way through a narrow gorge, creating a stunning spectacle. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some leisure time. In the evening, you will have dinner and spend the night at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking and later transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, located near the park. This sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you can track the endangered white rhinos in the wild. You will be briefed on the tracking procedure and then set off on foot with an experienced ranger to search for the rhinos. As you trek through the sanctuary, you may also encounter other wildlife such as bushbucks, monkeys, and different bird species.
Once you find the rhinos, you will have a unique opportunity to observe them up close in their natural habitat. After the exciting rhino tracking experience, you will enjoy lunch at the sanctuary before returning to Kampala, where you will be dropped off at your preferred location, marking the end of your memorable trip to Murchison Falls National Park.
