Itinerary for our 10 days Uganda & Rwanda safari
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel
On your arrival at Entebbe international airport (EBB), you will be met by a Yala Safaris’ staff who will brief you and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation to be ready to start the Uganda & Rwanda safari.

Day 2: Kampala City tour and transfer to Jinja via Mabira and Ssezibwa falls.
After having breakfast your driver guide takes you the exciting Kampala city tour starting with a visit to the national Mosque, to Namirembe Cathedral, then to Kabaka’s palace and finally the Uganda Museum for a complete feel of Uganda’s economic, political, cultural and social history as portrayed in different galleries proceed with the tour to Jinja with lunch en route. Along the road, visit Ssezibwa falls for great historical narrations and Mabira forest having a glance at Owen Falls Dam. Arriving in Jinja for an evening sunset boat ride from the source of River Nile.

Day 3: Tour to Bujagali falls and Transfer to Kibale forest National Park via Fort portal.
After having breakfast, check out and go for visit to the Bujjagali falls on River Nile. You will later embark on exciting road trip to Kibale forest national park. The journey is a pleasant one and our 4-wheel drive vehicle, your driver guide will do his best so that you will enjoy the journey through the Ugandan countryside. It is a scenic drive and once again you will be reminded why Uganda is the Pearl of Africa especially when you reach on the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori in Fort Portal for the Tea plantation trek. Later check in for relaxation.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking-Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park for an evening game drive.
Have an early morning breakfast and assemble at the briefing point as you get ready for Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest. Upon seeing these primates, you will be amazed seeing them swinging on tree branches, scream for food and make relationship like humans! Return to the lodge for relaxation, lunch and later drive to Queen Elizabeth via Kasese in the backdrop of Mountain Rwenzori Drive through the park for amazing wildlife views during an evening game drive.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel.
After breakfast, you will go for a game drive most likely to Kasenyi plain which is a famous ground for Lions, African Elephants, and Spotted Hyena and many antelope species including Topis. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, have a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel. This water body is known for being a catchment for Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, African Elephants, Cape Buffalos and many water birds including Great White Pelicans and Great Cormorant.

Day 6: Ishasha sector (Tree climbing Lion zone) – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park.
Have an early morning breakfast and head to the southern part of the park called the Ishasha sector. This is a famous home of tree climbing Lions that are seen resting on Fig tree branches in the afternoon, buffalo herds, African Elephants and Topis. You will have packed lunch for this expedition. Visit the Batwa pygmy along the way for a short interaction if time allows.

Day 7: Gorilla tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After having breakfast, drive to the park quarters at Ruhija for briefing before you head out to the most thrilling wildlife encounter in Africa. The location of Mountain Gorillas is unpredictable hence you will have packed lunch. In the evening, you will proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation or do an optional hike to one of the Islands surrounding Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8: Bunyonyi to Lake Kivu in Rwanda via Virunga Volcanoes
After having breakfast, there is a canoe ride along Lake Bunyonyi with an experienced resident and exotic bird species singing. Later Cross the border to Rwanda and drive to Ruhengeri (musanze). A loop drives to Kinigi & Bisate for a view and photography of Virunga Volcanoes. Drive to Gisenyi, a short stop on the shore of Lake Kivu and then drive to Kibuye.

Day 9: Kibuye to Nyungwe forest National park.
After having breakfast, have a stroll /leisurely walk on lake shore and drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park. In the afternoon walk on canopy walkway. The Canopy Walkway in the Nyungwe Forest National Park in south western Rwanda is 50 meters above the ground level, and 90 meters long. The dizzying platform is above a steep and deep valley trotting across massive forest. The 200m walkway with three towers is the biggest in East Africa! Spread over hundreds of square meters Nyungwe is said to be largest and most ancient Afro-Montane forest remaining in the East & Central Africa, dating back to the last ice age.

Day 10: Transfer to Kigali for a tour and later a drive to the airport.
Have an early morning breakfast and drive from Nyungwe to Kigali with a short visit to Nyanza King’s Palace and National museum. Arrival in Kigali in time to visit the Genocide memorial museum. Visit of a souvenir shop where you will be amazed by the African art craft. (You may take some home for as souvenirs as well in case you want) and transfer to the airport for your flight home as you say farewell to the African wilderness after your Uganda & Rwanda safari.
