Tanzania, formerly known as Tanganyika. In 1964, Tanganyika united with the Island of Zanzibar to form the United Republic of Tanzania, the largest of the 5 East African countries and is vastly known for its vast wilderness conservation areas. This conservation areas includes the plains of Serengeti National Park, Selous National Park, Ngorongoro conservation Area, Tarangire, Manyara National parks etc which are all a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game namely elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino, Tanzania is also home to Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain with a snow cap. Alongshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar with white sandy beaches ideal for beach holiday seekers also great for snorkeling fans because of its marine park, a home to whale sharks and coral reefs.
